Corporate background:
Pathé Frères started out in
France in 1905 as manufacturers of cylinder disc machines,
switching to vertical-cut disc manufacture in 1914.

1902 or 1903.”

strapwork border design was retained when the company began to
use paper labels in 1915.
The record information is not printed on
paper, but engraved into the record surface and then filled
