Corporate background:
This obscure label, in existence between
1907 and 1910, was likely produced by the renegade Leeds &
Catlin company, who also produced the identical-looking Clarion Record.
Why the label should be given such a
strange name is unknown.
|
Design: The
vertical strokes of the hand-drawn block-serif lettering for
the label name, following the outer circle, splay outward.
As the record contravenes patent rights
held by the Victor/Columbia duopoly, there are no copyright
notices, resulting in the empty-looking appearance.
