Design: An updated version of the earlier GT&S Melba record. The Victor release of the European recording shows the Nipper logo (though the line drawing has been greatly simplified from the original wood-engraving, owing to a reduction in scale) and a slightly more rhythmic and more angular version of the opera star's signature.
History: By 1904, Victor had dropped the 'Monarch Record' designation in favour of 'Victor Record.' Most often the labels were gold on black; this is an unusual combination of gold on pink. Label scan courtesy of U.S. collector Ken Hagelthorn.
