Corporate background:
The ‘Made in Germany’
designation has gone, possibly to avoid wartime trade
restrictions, or perhaps because the records were now being
manufactured in South America.
Label courtesy of Martín Javier Gorosito of Argentina.
|
Design: The
proud rooster has disappeared. In its place is a geometrical,
symmetrical ornament of the Jugendstil type (the German version
of Art Nouveau).
The outer border carries a decorative
studded pattern reminiscent of Gustav Klimt’s seminal
painting ‘The Kiss’ (1908).
The script lettering of the label name has
also been discarded in favour of a plain Roman typeface.
Note that the fonts used and the style of
imprinting are practically identical to that seen on the Era label, suggesting a common origin.
