Corporate background:
Odeon was the brand name of the
International Talking Machine Company, a European-based company
founded by Frederick Prescott, managing director of Zonophone,
after it had been bought out by the Victor/Columbia combine
around 1906.
The records were pressed in Germany.
|
Design: In
this Wagnerian scene, a mournful-looking Saxon maiden plays a
harp.
The rather unstable building on the distant
rocky shore is a depiction of the Odeon Theatre in Paris.
Note the Western-looking font used for 'La
Coralera.'
