Corporate background:
Collector and music researcher Daniel Beller, who
was born in Argentina but now lives in Israel, supplied this
image. He writes: “This 1909 release was probably the
first version of the Era label to appear in Argentina.
“Era Grand Record was one of several
labels to be marketed in Argentina by German businessman Carl
Lindström, giving the emerging local music industry the
opportunity to release titles otherwise rejected by Columbia or
Victor (this recording also appeared on the Beka Grand Record
label).
“Initially, the Era label was managed
by Carlos Domingo Nasca, ‘El Gaucho Relampago’
(‘The Fastest Cowboy’).”

Design: A
delicate, flowing filigree in the swelling-line style of a
copper engraving adorns the upper segment.
