Corporate background:
One of the earliest names in the
record-producing market, with a complex history.
Formed in 1898 by an ex-employee of Emile
Berliner, the parent company was acquired by GT&S of
England in 1903, its (European) label name being spelled
without hyphens.

Design: On
early Zonophone labels the typographic treament was kept very
simple.
