Disco Exposicion (Argentina) / c. 1912

back next

Design: The logo shows a magnificent drawing of a palatial exposition building, its glass walls supported by classical columns and a domed glass roof topped with statuettes supporting a globe. Heraldic statues also appear atop flanking side-columns draped with elongated banners which are attached to other massive statues at the foot; possibly this was the plan of a real building. The shaded border shows the influence of bank-note engraving.

History: Unknown (have info? Please send to info.re.78s@shaw.ca). Image courtesy of collector Daniel Beller, who was born in Argentina but who now lives in Israel. He notes: "Disco Exposicion was one of the Lindström labels issued in Argentina."
