Design: An echo of the Victorian era is seen in the delicate border ornaments. The symmetrical arrangement of the words 'Gramophone' and 'Record' leading toward and away from the word 'Herald' create a large open area above the spindle-hole, possibly intended for a royalty stamp.
History: Bill Dean-Myatt writes that this New Zealand label used British masters from Bell Disc and Winner, which were pressed in London and shipped out in completed form; however, New Zealand discographer Adam Miller also notes that this particular issue first appeared on a Beka record (see Miller's web site at www.78rpm.net.nz). This example turned up in Canada.
