Corporate background:
Bell Record, which was launched in 1920 as
an offshoot of the Standard Music Roll Company of Orange, New
Jersey, survived until 1928.
|
Design: The
open area above the spindle was at first occupied by the image
of a bell, but it was deleted, perhaps for legal reasons.
The indent in the tail of the letter 'R' in
'Record' still reveals where the top of the bell once
overlapped the lettering.
