Corporate background:
This revised design first appeared in 1923,
when a new supplier took over the manufacturing.
|
Design: Pan,
the horned, shaggy-legged satyr used as a logo is taken Greek
mythology.
Half man, half goat, the shy, wild creature
is often portrayed leaning against a tree, playing his flute or
Pan pipes.
The panel surrounding the Bell name,
consisting of a stepped plinth with fluted columns supporting
acanthus leaf scrolls, continues the Greek symbolism.
