Corporate background:
Launched in 1922, Beltona was a product of
the Murdoch Trading Company of London.
It lasted into the 1950s.
Label scan courtesy of UK music researcher
and collector Bill Dean-Myatt.
|
Design: A fluid
brush script logo with an overarching swash ending, similar in
feel to the contemporary Claxtonola label.
Despite the stylish and up-to-date
graphics, the song title, ‘Borneo’ and other lines
are typeset in a condensed Latin font which dates from the late
Victorian era, lending an old-fashioned air to the label.
The redundant word ‘Record’
would soon disappear.
