Corporate background:
Founded in 1922, Beltona was taken over in
1927 by Edison Bell.

Design: "Curiously
Euphonic" is how the redesigned label describes itself,
the half-hidden face perpetuating that same air of mystery.
The word 'Beltona,' probably meaning 'good
tone,' is rather close to 'Beltane,' the first day of May in
the old Scottish (Celtic) calendar, which has many connections
to paganism.
