The Boy Scout Association, the brainchild of Robert Baden-Powell (defender of the town of Mafeking during the Boer War) received its charter in 1910, and soon spread worldwide.

Design: All the lines of lettering in the upper segment are enclosed within scrolls symmetrically arranged around the heraldic-styled Scout logo, a starred fleur-de-lys above the motto ‘Be Prepared.’
