Corporate background:
Label scan courtesy of UK music researcher
and collector Bill Dean-Myatt, who notes that this session was recorded in
London ca. January 1929.
|
Design: The
entire logo is redrawn, with some strange treatment of
letterforms for the label name (e.g. the cap B, with circular
counters; the fat lowercase a, with the bowl and stem tacked on
to each other; and the almost rotunda-Gothic lowercase s).
All were oviously created with ruler and
compasses, typical of the hard-edged Art Deco style.
The typeface used for the song title in the
imprinting is very old (evidenced not only by the degree of
wear, but by the style), likely dating from the 1880s.
