Corporate background:
Originally produced by Vocalion, which was
taken over in 1932 by the Crystalate conglomerate.
|
Design: At
7" across rather than the standard 10", several
labels of this type appeared around this time in England, as a
way of providing groove economy.
The labels came down to a 2 1/8"
diameter instead of the usual 3 1/2", the design area
further reduced here by the outer ‘ring’ of type.
The design is well balanced and
colour-coordinated.
A jagged electric pulse flashes across the
world (showing Europe at the centre of things).
