Corporate background:
Formed in 1921 as a cheaply-priced label.
Eventually it merged with Pathe and then
Regal to form the American Record Corporation.
The label was discontinued in 1931.
|
Design: The
vertical red stripes on the deep blue background (associated
with wallpaper of the English Regency period, 1811 - 1820, when
cameos were a popular form of art), makes the overprinted
information hard to read.
For that reason, the label name is isolated
within a panel.
