Corporate background:
As noted previously, this was a
‘store label’ produced for the William Cooper Bros.
store, London (see the C - B either side of the spindle hole).
Launched in 1912, it survived until 1927.

Design: The
colonnaded and mutli-domed building beneath a starry sky is
probably fictitious, since it bears no resemblance to the
London Coliseum, which was erected in 1904 in the Renaissance
style, and is still standing.
The foot of the building is obscured by the
waving banner which separates the upper and lower segments, and
which may have shown people crowding into the facility.
