Corporate background:
Usually referred to as the
‘flag’ label, this design was introduced in 1924
but within a year had been discontinued.
|
Design: Instead
of being a simple flat curve, the red, white and blue sash is
now treated three-dimensionally, flattened out at the centre to
allow for the imprinting of the (small-sized) credit lines.
The lightweight book face used for the word
'Columbia' is a departure from previous styles.
Bronze (and for other categories, gold,
silver, blue or green) ink is used for the background colour.
