Corporate background:
According to Argentinian collector Martín Javier Gorosito, who supplied this image, the Disco Electra label
was founded by Alfredo Améndola in 1922, during the
acoustic recording era.
|
Design: An
unusual mix of old-fashioned and modern treatment.
The compass-style arrangement of
Victorian-looking ornaments harks back to an earlier age, while
the script lettering logo, following the radius, is
‘up-to-date.’
Though the opening and closing quotation
marks around the label name are superfluous, they have been
carefully positioned so as to cause the least amount of visual
interference.
