Corporate background:
Launched in 1912, Edison’s discs
lasted until 1929.
Thanks for updated info to collector Kjell Thorsen, who
notes that the tracks for this record were recorded in New York
on June 24, 1925.
|
Design: From
1913 to 1920, the information on Edison discs were blind-etched
into the record surface.
On the new paper labels, there is a
dedicated panel for personal indexing purposes.
On the right of the centre hole a line
illustration of the inventor seems to be arising from what
looks like a cooking pot, balanced on the left by a matching
pot over which his signature appears, rather like a pile of
steaming vegetables.
Most elements used in the design have a
soft, rounded feel, apart from the checkerboard pattern in the
outer ring.
