Corporate background:
Label scan courtesy of UK music researcher
and collector Bill Dean-Myatt, who notes that the red-wax records were
pressed by the Scranton Button Company of Pennsylvania, which
custom-pressed many other cheaply-priced labels such as
Emerson, Grey Gull and Banner.
|
Design: The
promise of a bright future is suggested by rays of the morning
sun rising through the fluted columns of a triumphal arch
embossed with a dove (symbolizing peace), and draped with the
orange, white and green flag of Ireland.
A ‘lucky’ shamrock (symbol of
Ireland) either side of the label, completes the symmetrical
design.
