Corporate background:
Evidently a product of the Edison Bell
works in London.
Label scan courtesy of UK collector Graham Farnell.
|
Design: The bell
logo, with the ‘Rings Out Loud and Clear’ cutline
can be seen in a different form on the Edison Bell Winner label.
The child to the left, dressed in a
wide-collared suit and sitting on a three-legged stool, is
nursery rhyme character Little Jack Horner (‘What a good
boy am I!’), who shows the plum he has pulled out of his
pie.
Probably the label was intended for the
children’s market and sold through
‘dime-store’ outlets such as J. W.
Woolworth’s.
