Broadway (U.S.A.) / 1928

Design: A line drawing of the New York skyline in the 1920s. Somewhat unusually, the duration of the recording is noted here, perhaps for the benefit of radio.

History: A cheaply-priced label launched in 1921 and lasting until 1935, Broadway was one of several labels (including Paramount and Puritan) issuing from the New York Recording Laboratories, based in Wisconsin. The name 'Broadway' was becoming synonymous with stage entertainment, while 'Hollywood' was in the process of becoming the same for the film industry.
