Corporate background:
Originally a subsidiary of Plaza Music Co.,
the Banner label was launched in 1922.
The ‘BR’ initials at the top
refer to the Brunswick Radio Corporation (a subsidiary of
Warner Bros.), which was formed in 1931 and had acquired the
label through various trade mergers.
The label was dropped in 1935.
