Corporate background:
Label scan courtesy of Bulgarian collector Dimitar Malchev, who
writes: “Gloria is the name of a small Bulgarian record
firm which, along with Flama, could be the earliest label names
of the Lifa Record Company, founded by entrepreneur Albert
Pincass in the early 1930s. The recording was made in Germany,
and the pressing done in Bulgaria.”

Design: A strong
design with monolithic images, though what relationship they
have to each other is not obvious: is the background shape
supposed to represent a pyramid, or a light shining downward?
The drawing of the lion is rather like
those done by medieval artists whose only source of reference
for animals in far-off lands was the verbal description
provided by returning explorers (though the artist was
sufficiently proud of his/her work to place initials on each
side of the drawing).
