Corporate background:
Launched by the Crystalate
conglomerate in 1933, and lasting until 1942.
|
Design: Appropriately,
the Rex label uses a heraldic approach, with beautifully-drawn
lions supporting a rather distorted shield in the upper
segment.
The blurb running across the centre panel
reads: "The king of records."
As if that was not enough of a claim,
around the lower outside part of the label is a second slogan:
"Hear what you like – when you like," probably
a take-off of Victor’s slogan, "The music you want
– when you want it."
