Corporate background:
Founded in the 1890s, Pathé began
manufacturing cylinders in 1896, vertical-cut records in 1906.
The American branch of Pathé,
launched in 1914, merged with Cameo in 1928, and was sold in
1929 to the American Record Corporation.
This French-made Pathé is probably
of a later date.
Design: The
well-known Pathé logo and rooster (no longer standing on
a disc) are here combined and given much greater prominence
than on earlier labels.
