Corporate background:
The ABC Paramount label, an offspring of
the film theatre company, was launched in 1955 in New York
City.
In 1965 its name was simplified to ABC
Records.
In 1979 it was sold to MCA, which dissolved
the label and transferred its music catalogue to MCA.
|
Design: The
image of sound waves on a console monitor brings the 78 rpm
label into the electronic era, though the label name following
the outer curve harks back to the earliest days of label
design.
A clean layout in which bright primary
colours are used to good effect.
