Corporate background:
Created in 1947 under the auspices of the
occupying Soviet regime, as a state-owned label.
Label scan courtesy of U.K. discographer
and researcher Bill Dean-Myatt.
|
Design: As in
the Rondo label from
the same period, the label name flows across the wavy lines of
a music staff.
The positive and negative imagery in the
illustration and the border were inspired by the powerful
graphics to be seen on posters of the period, a media which had
matured by way of wartime propaganda.
As usual with German printing, the
imprinting is handled logically, with attention to detail.
