Corporate background:
In operation from 1949 to 1951.
The records were pressed by RCA Victor, but
when it was discovered that Biltmore was issuing masters from
the Victor catalogue without proper authorization, they sued
Biltmore, putting them out of business (Wikipedia).
|
Design: A
stylized image of a hotel (not the famous Biltmore of New York
City, which had twin towers over a main block).
The bold cut-out shapes and absence of
ornament are typical of 1950s design.
