Corporate background:
Launched in Philadelphia in 1956, this
Cameo label (which had no connection with the earlier Cameo label,
1922 - 1930) survived until 1967.
This Canadian release was distributed by
London Records of Canada.
Design: The
lettering used for the name on this understated label is of the
Tuscan family, with the stems splitting into curlicued serifs.
The ornamentation is applied inside the
bowls of the 'C' and 'O,' rather than on the main stroke.
The cameo is a delicate little silhouette.
