Bob Manning, the artist featured, was a
smooth-voiced crooner who achieved wide popularity in the
mid-1950s; he died in 1997.

Design: An
interesting contrast in script styles in the upper segment,
with fine pen lettering placed above obese brush letters for
the label name.
Generally, a three-dimensional effect is
achieved by using a black shadow (e.g. the Artiphon Record
label), but this cannot be done with a solid black background,
so coarse horizontal shading with a white release to one side
creates a side-lit effect (compare with the much earlier Silvertone label).
