Corporate background:
The name ‘Decca’ was an amalgam
of the initial ‘D’ from Dulcetone, an early
phonograph, and Mecca, the centre of the Muslim religion.
As noted on the label, this record was
pressed by the Compo company.

Label design:
The Decca label here seems to have imitated the Brunswick design
in its use of the star and stripe.
