Design: The hillside dividing the upper and lower segments perhaps represent the hills surrounding Hollywood.

A more recognizable image would certainly have been the familiar 'Hollywood' letters on the hillside.

Note the different styles of script used for the label name.

Radio towers and spotlights cross the label face, with an irregularly-shaped panel containing the credit info intruding from the foot.
