Corporate background:
The Bluebird label, launched in the early
1930s, was reduced in the 1940s to a ‘series.’
E.C. Edwards, ‘Alberta Slim,’
was a well-known C&W crowd favourite based in the
Vancouver, B.C. area who was still performing at music
festivals when in his 90s.

Design: The
early Bluebird label
was quite striking design-wise, but at the end of its lifespan
had become very conservative.
