Corporate background:
Ron Hall,
author of "The CHUM Chart Book" kindly supplied the
following info: “Phonodisc started operations in 1956 in
the Toronto suburb of Scarborough. The main label was Regency
Records which started with record #500 and ended with #983 in
1966. The original colour scheme was a cream background with
purple print; by #617 the colour scheme had changed to a dark
green background with silver print. The next change was in 1965
just before the label folded: the background was two-tone blue
with black print. The Regency label was mainly an outlet for US
releases in Canada, as was the Delta record label, also pressed by
Phonodisc.”

Design: This
bouncy Gothic for the label name rocks and rolls.
