Corporate background:
Launched in 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee by
Sam Phillips, and still in operation.
Best known for being the launching pad for
the careers of such musical luminaries as Elvis Presley, Roy
Orbison, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash.
|
Design: A
crowing rooster standing on a fence welcomes the rising sun,
which is centred on the centre hole.
The sun's rays are screened back to give a
multicolour effect to this two-colour printing job.
Note how the shadow behind the main
lettering is positioned, as if caused by the sun, to heighten
the visual effect.
The outer border is composed of a music
staff filled with arbitrarily-placed notes.
