Design: An unusual, eye-catching sweep to the five-line music staff, on which the label name letters seem to have been placed somewhat arbitrarily. The label name has a 'negative' shadow dimension that helps preserve some clarity in the letterforms. Note the design and colour combination similarities to the Listen and Vee-Jay labels (among others) from the same time period.

History: Founded in Chicago in 1954 by Julius Bard and Nick Laney, the label was sold to promoter Eli Oberstein; in 1961 it was acquired by Precision Radiation Instruments and is still active as a sub-label of the east coast Kimberly label (info:
